Soundtrack to the memory of a dream.

Abelisk presents “Dreamscape Cartographic”, an unexpected new dungeon synth album thematically inspired by wobbly PS1 textures and the idiosyncratic charm of 12-bit romplers. Dreamscape Cartographic is presented as a series of “short” vignettes set in a grungy low fantasy world with a strange uncanny vibe bordering on the eldritch. Inspired heavily by Dread Delusions and the King's Field series, Dreamscape Cartographic aims to strike a balance between a warm comforting vibe juxtaposed against cold, uneasy, and anxious undertones.

After the reactivation of Abelisk with Phantoms A/B in 2023, it was decided to steer the project back to its solo roots, prioritizing atmospheric and instrumental music while disregarding restrictive genre boundaries. To this end, Dreamscape Cartographic will be the first in a series of loosely connected releases from Abelisk targeting niche micro genres. The goal of these releases is to broaden the project’s palette and to break out of old habits with new sounds and production styles.
